Licensed Masters Social Worker and Community Health Worker

She/Ella

Founder and Director of Little People’s Victory, Nicolalita is a Licensed Masters Social Worker and Community Health Worker (Promotora de Salud) with over a decade of experience working primarily within frontline communities. She has spent her professional career bridge building and gap filling in the fields of mental and behavioral health, domestic violence, developmental disabilities, juvenile justice, social justice, public health and school systems as a social worker, trauma therapist, community organizer, community health worker and support professional.

As a multiracial, multicultural, fat woman of color who grew up poor working class, she not only understands but embodies intersectionality and the oppression and erasure that comes with it. These experiences, personally and professionally have helped her to thoroughly understand the impact these intentionally flawed systems have on our mental health and holistic well-being and fuels her passion for centering, dance, movement, play, joy and love in all she does.

While trained in many trauma treatments, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Play Therapy, Trauma Informed Yoga and Trauma Centered Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), Nicolalita also utilizes her training and education as a Dance Instructor, Community Health Worker, Reiki Master, Intuitive, Restorative Practice Facilitator and cultural teachings as tools for liberation focused healing.

Nicolalita is very active in her community and enjoys utilizing dance and movement to build inclusive spaces for expression and healing. She also has a deep passion for social justice, traveling, strawberries, bunnies and of course- letting loose in Zumba(r) classes!

My treatment approach mirrors how I move in this world, intentional, holistic, trauma informed, culturally empowering, and advocating for social change through individual and collective healing and liberation.
